Information for the Parents

With TKE, your son can achieve his personal best. For more than one hundred years, young men on college campuses have sought out membership in fraternities. Each fraternity promotes a set of ideals that are to be held true by its members throughout their lives. While these ideals usually differ from fraternity to fraternity, most provide an environment where young men are encouraged to develop strong skills for academics, leadership, organization, personal growth, and involvement in community service -- the attributes that help build success throughout life.

While no two fraternities are exactly alike, each offers a young man a place to be accepted and belong -- a place to fit in on campus. Fraternity brothers are lifetime friends, colleagues, and sources of support for each other.   Tau Kappa Epsilon -- Together in a Bond TKE men are given six challenges: scholarship, participation, developing an understanding of TKE history, developing an understanding of chapter operations, becoming a "frater" (brother), and understanding and practicing the ideals and principles of charity, esteem, and love.   By assessing his own personal goals, a Teke also is challenged to determine how those will be achieved -- by both giving his time to, and using the resources of, his chapter. Every duty a Teke performs within his chapter will contribute to his character and future success.

Tau Kappa Epsilon is the largest international college fraternity, with more than 300 chapters and colonies in the U.S. and Canada. Its current membership and alumni number over 200,000.
